Child Safety in Carsharing: Certified Child Seats at Malco Digital Group

Ensuring the safety of our customers is our top priority, especially when it comes to the little ones. At Malco Digital Group, we comply with all current regulations and offer certified child seats so that the whole family can enjoy our services, including our new carsharing service in Castellón.

Child Safety Regulations: What the DGT Says

In 2021, the Council of Ministers introduced a penalty of 4 points off the driving license for not using a seatbelt or a child restraint system (CRS). These systems are designed to reduce road fatalities by up to 75% and ensure the safety of young passengers.

Requirements for Child Seats According to the i-Size Regulation (ECE R-129)

• The seats must bear an i-Size label.
• The Isofix system is mandatory (two lower and one upper anchorage point).
• Children must ride in rear-facing seats until 15 months old or 71 cm tall.
• Classification of seats based on height and weight.

Can Children Sit in the Front Seat of a Carsharing Vehicle?

According to safety regulations, children can sit in the front seat of a carsharing vehicle only if:

• Their height is at least 1.35 meters.
• They are over 12 years old.
• If the rear seats are occupied and a certified child restraint system is used.

Child Restraint Systems and Height-Based Classification

It is mandatory to use child seats for children shorter than 1.35 meters, although AESVi recommends using them until 1.50 meters for added protection.

• Group 0: 10 to 85 cm.
• Group 0+ and 1: 45 to 105 cm.
• Group 2 and 3: 1 to 1.50 meters.
